London Heathrow Airport
London Heathrow Airport is the busiest airport in the United Kingdom and the third busiest in the world. The airport handles more international passengers than any other airport around the globe. In total more than 175 million passengers have travelled through the airport.
Owned and operated by BAA Limited, Heathrow is a primary hub for BMI and British Airways and a base for Virgin Atlantic Airways.
Located 14 miles west of Central London, the airport has 2 runways and 5 terminals, only 4 of these are operational. There were plans to build a third runway and sixth terminal, these plans were cancelled in 2010.

My most recent visit to Heathrow was in November last year for a BA flight to Barcenlona. Whenever I fly short haul I always try and fly with BA from T5. The location of the Terminal is excellent with its own slip road off of the M25 when approaching clockwise. More often than not you leave the motorway just as traffic starts to back up for the M4 exit. Its worth taking the T5 exit if you are using another teriminal at Heathrow too,as you can drive around the perimiter road of the airport and cut out the last part of the motorway and traffic.
Terminal 5 is clean, modern and light and is always a pleasure to pass through, although I have found security can be a bit slow at times. Once your through the shopping is second to none and there are plenty of places to eat.
